The Bear Grylls 10k Survival Race · 20 August 2016
I've recently joined Excell and have already been persuaded into taking part in this challenge. For those of you that know me you know this will certainly be a challenge! However, I think it's going to be fun training and taking part with all my colleagues. I am going to start running this week and working on my BG survival skills..?
Most importantly we will be raising money and awareness for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Several of the important women in my life have survived and are currently fighting cancer so this charity is particularly close to my heart.
Having cancer at a young age comes with its own particular set of challenges and TTCT services put the needs of young people first and allow them to face those challenges together.
The C9 Teenage Cancer Trust Unit and Oasis Centre at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge is for 14-24 year olds and has 8 in-patient beds and dedicated day–care facilities. The Centre is located away from the main unit and is a drop-in facility for young people to access information and support when they're not an inpatient. The Centre does an amazing job at supporting young patients and enabling them to receive treatment in the best possible environment.
Thank you so much for your donation, it will make my training that little bit less painful!
