Well I don't have a story like many of you out there so my friend Fi from work has kindly written this poem for me:

I send this invitation to everyone I know

To be with me in spirit as off to France I go.

There cannot be too many, who do not know the fear brought about by 'Cancer', a word we dread to hear.

So onwards now, and upwards, for this forty something lass I'll rally my supporters, we won't let this chance pass.

A mere 300 miles to go, I'm passionate to do it last year was just a third of that, I really did fly though it!

I'm setting off from London, to the White Cliffs I will go.  Au revoir to Angleterre, to Calais! Tally-ho! From Abbeville to Beauvais, leaving Agincourt. We few, we happy few, will cycle all the more.

Pas the Somme we carry on toward I'Hotel de Ville, excitement mixed with tiredness we now begin to feel.

The final day of cycling, from Beauvais to the Seine Paris! La France! 300 miles! So how much did we gain?

'How much did we gain?' you ask, the answer's down to you! I'll pedal madly all the way, will you contribute too?
