Update 16.03.12.
Hello, Mary here, Jo's youngest daughter...
I just wanted to give you all a quick update to say that I dropped Mum off at the airport last Saturday. The trip had been a long time in the planning but mum was very excited to finally be off on her adventure!
My brother John joined her in Kathmandu on Tuesday and, after visiting the leprosy hospital they are raising money for, they have set off on their trek.
I have uploaded a picture of their first night accommodation. Very dramatic I'm sure you'll agree and a far cry from Mum's usual sleeping quarters in Dorset!
On behalf of Mum I'd like to thank you all once more for your kind donations. They are sincerely appreciated by Mum and by the Anandaban Leprosy Hospital.
I'll keep you posted when I next here from Mum or John.
Thanks for your support and interest,
Mary

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page, the purpose of which was & is to raise funds for the The Leprosy Mission's Anandaban Leprosy Hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal.
On March 10th this year I will be setting off (at last!!) on Trek for Treatment in Nepal, with the aim not only of enjoying a trek in a beautiful country but also of seeing the work of the hospital first hand, and of raising money for its important work. Whilst I have paid for the cost of the trip myself, I needed to raise an additional £1,500 for the hospital and am happy to say that through your generosity the minimal target has been reached and it is wonderful to see more donations coming in.
We are a group of 11 treckers one of whom is one of my sons, John. He is giving me moral support as well as raising money for the hospital.
Anandaban Leprosy Hospital is the largest leprosy hospital in Nepal, with 100 beds for leprosy patients and a further 25 for general admissions. The hospital employs 115 Nepalese and 4 expatriates, and is situated 16km south of the capital, Kathmandu.
Thank you for you support of this important cause. We plan to send regular updates whilst away, technology permitting!
Best wishes,
Jo
