Story

Dave and I are going to cycle 147 miles from Whitehaven to Sunderland across unforgiving (yet scenic) terrain the highest point being 1,998ft.

Why I hear you ask?

My niece Bethany (see picture) was diagnosed last year with type 1 diabetes when she was only 3 years old.  this means she has to test her blood 4 or more times a day and inject insulin twice a day.  Dave and I decided we wanted to do something to raise both money for and awareness of the work being carried out by JDFR to find a cure.  As a keen runner it was only natural that the challenge would be cycling!!  Ok so perhaps not that obvious especially since it had been a good few years since I had been on a bike before deciding on this gruelling bike ride.  However, the challenge has been set and the training well underway.  All I ask now is that you can dig deep to help Dave and I raise as much money as possible.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
