Story
With parents who lived through the second world war I grew up knowing how selfless our armed forces were and how much they have given us so that we can live in the style and have the liberty we do today.
With this in mind (and probably after a few glasses of Chardonnay) I agreed to take part in this run around Christmas thinking I had plenty of time to train-but for lots of reasons I havent done any -so was in two minds wether to cancel my entry. Then I was sent the list of all the soldiers who had been killed or wounded in action and we were all designated a special soldier to run for-mine was Captain Tom Jennings who was killed in action when his armoured car was blown up in Kabul- he was just 29.
Being lucky enough to have 4 beautiful children of my own and my eldest son Ted has just celebrated his 21st birthday yesterday-how could I opt out ? Capt jennings was just a little bit older than Ted?He was a royal marine and also someones son.
I am a really slow jogger and most definitely not a natural athlete but even if I have to crawl it I will-so please give whatever you can-even if its a little amount it all adds up! Whatever i raise from you I will match the amount from my company to double the fund. As i said I was going to drop out -so apologies this is last minute-please give what you can in the next couple of days.
