Story

FINAL UPDATE!!!

I ran the whole 26.2 miles - I just walked about a minute to take some pain killers! I got to 7 miles and thought how am I going to do this. I ran the 13.1 miles in a slow 2 hours 25 minutes. When I saw Gordon, Karen and Katie at about 14 miles I suddenly had more energy and in my mind I thought I'll see them again at 22 miles and that's only another 8 miles! They were there at 23 miles and I was so emotional I cried! I ran the final 3.2 miles as fast as I could manage thinking the pain I can feel is nothing like the pain my Mum had gone through that week! The support on the way round was immense - I thanked everyone with a nod, a wave or a thankyou in person!

I am so thankful for all the support I received - thank you all. It means so much to me..... and of course to all the individuals helped by the Retail Trust.

Special thank you to my two rocks - Gordon and Dad who got me (and Mum) through the last week. Love you loads xx

My time was 5 hours 45 seconds - never again! xx

Update 23rd April - I ran 20.2 miles a couple of weeks ago so am fairly confident I will get round! The heat and the sun may mean I take alittle longer! I trained in between 0-5 degrees with 3 layers on until 3 weeks ago!!

Thanks to EVERYONE who has visited my page and supported me. You have all been sooooooooooooo generous, it really means alot to me. Thank you also to Jo and the guys at Retail Trust for all their support and guidance. I am as you know raising money for the Retail Trust and am proud to be running for them.

I do however have another reason for running and 'getting round' on Sunday - My Mum. She hasn't been well and so can't come to London to support me as she had planned. She has been a tremendous support over the last 6 months, helping me raise money and motivating me and ensuring I always put my training first. Remember you'll make it next year. Love you Mum xx

Update 30th March - I ran nearly 19 miles last weekend - it is soooooooooooo hard but still enjoyable! The table Tennis Tournament and garage sale I held on Saturday evening was a great success - thanks to all my lovely friends for their support - AGAIN! I do appreciate it.xxxxx

Update 22nd March - I am an emotional mess at the moment! I am so over whelmed by all the support, the lovely messages and the massive amount of money everyone is donating. When I am training thinking about it brings tears to my eyes! The tears on Saturday were also because my legs really really hurt! I ran 18.2 miles which is a first for me...ever in my whole life!! I am still recovering!

Thank you all again from the bottom of my heart xxxx

Update 18th February - Thanks again for taking the time to visit my page! Last weekend I ran 14 miles. I 'recovered' quickly although my legs have not felt the same since! This is the furthest I have run ever in my whole life (without stopping!!!) This week it's all about running faster which is something that I find very challenging! Wish me luck...thank you everybody who has or is going to donate.xxx

Hola! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Many of you will know I am running the London marathon in April 2010 for The Retail Trust. I was injured last year and was devastated when I had to pull out. I have had treatment galore and am on the latter part of the road to recovery.

My training is going to plan and I am sooooooo looking forward to running this year. I love running and to run 26.2 miles and raise money for The Retail Trust at the same time is a dream come true!!!

I worked in retail for along time (26 years +) so am thrilled to support the Retail Trust. They support everybody who works (and is retired from) the retail industry.Visit their website for loads more detail

Update 26th January...Happy New Year! I have only just started to seriously try to raise money. This is for 2 reasons, firstly because Christmas is an expensive time for everyone and secondly I now feel VERY confident I can actully run the 26.2km!! For those that know me really well you will know this is because of the achilles injury I was (past tense!) recovering from. I now pronounce myself total fit!!! I feel very passionate about running and raising awareness of the Retail Trust and obviously raising ££££'s for them. Jxx

Any donations however small will be greatly appreciated, thank you for your support!
