Well, I made it! Rather windy and seemed to be in the serious athletes group (no one else had a luggage carrier or basket on their bike!) Very dodgy photos taken to prove it, but probably horror shots not allowed on justgiving, so will save you from them :-) A really big thank you for your support. Jo x

OK, so getting nervous now! Did cycle and run last weekend. Just need to fit a 1/2 mile swim on the front!!!! Decided to try for under 2 hours, which may give me enough time for the hairdryer! V late start time, so concerned I may not finish until it's over!!!!!
Peer pressure is a terrible thing... Somehow I was persuaded that doing a triathlon would be a really good idea. Fortunately, I didn't get a place in the initial ballot, so thought I was off the hook! However, a place has now become available (someone more sensible dropped out!), so all excuses have now disappeared. As I now seem to be running, swimming and cycling, I thought I needed extra motivation to keep me going and help benefit Wellbeing of Women whilst I endure pain.
Wellbeing of Women is one of the few charities that focuses on research to help women's health, from fertility and childbirth through to menopausal problems and women's cancer. These areas are underfunded by the major charities and represent common and often extremely distressing conditions. I have been involved with this charity for several years and have benefitted from others' kindness. It's my opportunity to give a bit back.
