As a Paediatric nurse as part of my role, I  care for and support children and their families on their cancer journey.These families never cease to amaze me how they cope with the life changing rollercoaster they find themselves on when their child is diagnosed with cancer. 

When I read about the "wobbleberries challenge" , I decided I had to apply, hopefully be selected and fulfil a life long dream to compete on my horse Pete whilst raising money for an amazing charity.

So let me tell you about the "other man " in my life .... His name is Pete , he's 11 years old, 15.1hh, bay gelding  and was given to me as an unbroken 3yo.... "Time flies when you are having fun" ! Pete will only do what you ask him so if you dont ask , you don't get ....which is interesting when heading towards a jump and I am thinking "do I or don't I "!...

Pete has competed with both my daughters previously in local show jumping , cross country and dressage events , so he has the "T-shirt" just needs me to wear my brave pants ! 

Little bit about me .... I have been around horses all my life , having been very lucky to have owned my first horse when I was a teenager. I sold her when I started my nurse training many years ago. I then had two children and once they were old enough to go to nursery I got back into horses....and so it continues...

Watching my two daughters competing when they were younger , always left me feeling envious ,wanting to be doing it too , but never having the confidence to start. Always thinking " one day  " maybe .....

Well now I have the opportunity , the incentive and the kick up my backside to "fulfil my dream and beat my demon "
