<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page</p> <p>The first time I did the yorkshire three peaks it took me over 12 hours and they nearly called out the mountain rescue I was so late back - if I hadn't had as many fag breaks I might've finished quicker!</p> <p>Several years later I did it again - fitter, fagless and in about 9 hours, but half way round we met a fell runner who had fallen, split her lip, knocked out some teeth and asked us to call out the mountain rescue. I did some basic first aid while Graham ran to the top of Whernside to get some reception on the phone - helicopter launched and volunteers on the hillside we carried on safe in the knowledge that she was being looked after. Unfortunately she decided that in spite of the helicopter circling overhead and her own request for help she would make her own way to the hospital - how much money and person hours were wasted in that rescue attempt I hate to think.</p> <p>This third attempt is my way of trying to make amends for that fell runner as well as trying to raise some cash for this brilliant band of volunteers.</p> <p>I am making public the bold ambition of doing the 24 miles and 5200 feet of ascent in 6 and a half hours.
