<p>Sea Shepherd UK is a charity that I have only recently become familiar with, but I am so glad that I have.</p>
<p>Sea Shepherd UK are a non-profit, marine wildlife organisation. They have saved countless dophins, seals and whales from slaughter, as well as many other species. I thought that I had "seen it all", but some of the practices I have been alerted to are a real eye opener.</p>
<p>To give you just a small insight, 270,000 seals will be slaughtered this year mainly to provide unessential vanity products. 95% of the seals are babies less than 4 weeks old, clubbed over the heads while unable to escape, then 42% will go on to be skinned alive.</p>
<p>Barbarians who prefer to be known as "sport" fishermen, haul sharks onto boats, slice off their fins while still alive, then through them back into the sea where they sink and die in agony. A bowl of shark fin soup, a shark tooth necklace, or just the sheer sport of it are some of the pathetic reasons for doing this.</p>

<p>Sea Shepherd state that they use innovative direct-action tactics to investigate and confront illegal activities on the high seas. Understatement!!! These people are extremely brave and courageous.</p>
