As you may know, Tony and I are off to Africa in August in an attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. At 5895m, Kili ranks 4th in the 'Seven Summits', making it one of the highest mountains in the world, so climbing it will be no easy feat! There are many routes up the mountain, we have chosen to climb the Rongai Route which is 6 days up to the Summit and 1 day back down to base camp. Sounds easy... if it wasn't for the altitude!
As a thank you to the people of Africa, for letting us climb their mountain (especially to the porters who are going to carry our gear up on their heads!), we would like to give something back. We have chosen to fundraise for Actionaid, who do fantastic work throughout Africa to provide communities with the possibilities for a better and longer life. We're not asking for much, your money goes a long way... just £10 can provide mosquito nets for a family of 5 to ward off Malaria... a disease which kills an African child every 30 seconds.
So please sponsor us, its simple... here's how to do it...
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
PS - this trip is 100% self funded, so any money donated will go direct to the charity, not to pay for our holiday!
