We share our lives with cats. They bring happiness to millions of us every day. Yet too many cats don’t get the care and kindness they deserve. At Cats Protection we stand up for every cat to make life better for cats and the people who care for them.

Still time to donate!!

This year I will be turning 30!!  So what better way to celebrate then by running my first ever marathon and not only any old marathon but the Virgin London Marathon!  The marathon just happens to be the same age as me and on the same weekend as my birthday so it was quite clear to me that this is fate.

From there it was only a matter of choosing a charity it was a difficult choice for me to decide not to raise money for cancer research but all my previous events have been for this charity and you only have to look at the popularity of of the Race for Life events to see how well supported they are.

So I looked for another charity close to my heart and then I saw a picture of a ginger ball of fur (April) and a black vampire grin (May) and it was clear - the Cat Protection.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am cat crazy and so what a good idea to help this charity that is so in need of support!

In 09/10 Cancer Research UK received a staggeringly wonderful 446m* in total from fund raising an other income, were as in 2009 the Cat Protection received only 34.7m**.

You may know that my gorgeous cats April and May (currently living with my parents) were received from the Cat Protection nearly 11 years ago and are pampered beyond belief and most certainly have a charmed life.
However, their story could have been so very different, I received them as kittens when they, their mother and another brother and sister were in the care of Cat Protection.  There mother had been abandoned when she was pregnant, probably because she was, and luckily she was temporarily homed to have her kittens in peace.
One of the other kittens in the litter did not make it, I am unsure if this was due to any mistreatment that Mum may have had.

I dare not think what could have happened to my cats had someone not been kind enough to take them to the Cat Protection and for them to be able to look after and home them.

They have given me so much pleasure over the years I had to try and help them to continue to help this brilliant work.

Please give what you can and thank you so much!
