My story

Thanks for visiting my Jo Collins’ fundraising page in support of Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
My career as a song-writer spans 30 years, my songs have been covered by internationally recognised artists and I continue to record my new work. "Decade" is my most recent album containing songs written and recorded between 2000 and 2010.
Those of you that know me will know that I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer secondaries in 2011.
This is a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer which most commonly affects young women, often with young families. I know all too well the impact of this condition and I wanted to combine the launch of my CD with a chance to raise money for a charity which was focussing on research around this particular form of cancer.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer is supporting the research which is so urgently needed.
In conjunction with the launch of my CD "Decade" at Holy Moly’s in Bedford on the 14th of January, I will be raising money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer. If you are coming along on the night you can donate there and I look forward to seeing everyone and sharing a night of great music and company, alternatively I have set up this "Just Giving" page to make it easy for people to donate should they wish to.
I hope that in some small way that my fundraising event will contribute to ensuring that women are diagnosed and treated earlier.
