BUPA Great North Run 2009 · 20 September 2009 ·

For over 70 years the Percy Hedley Foundation has delivered over 30million hours of care, education and support to tens of thousands of disabled people across the North East. With your support we will transform lives and offer every opportunity possible to live their lives to the full.

Story

The Percy Hedley Foundation support people with severe disability and learning difficulties. In particular, they are in the process of making provision for a new form of therapy called imuse (interactive music streaming engine) which creates a multi-sensory environment with the use of music.

We are supporting Katie and Brian Luke who are running in memory of Rob Luke (brother and son) who died suddenly aged 19. He was an extremely talented composer and musician and it would help us a great deal if we thought that money raised in Rob's name was going to such a worthwhile cause associated with music, which was the love of Rob's life and which we all enjoy so much.

There is a possibility that the BBC may use some of Rob's instrumental music as soundtrack to the TV broadcast.  We keep our fingers crossed on this! But in any event, Rob's family wish to give a complimentary copy of one of Rob's albums to every person that is kind enough to sponsors us.
