We’re about seeing young people’s lives changed by Jesus. We do this by showing Jesus in a way which is relevant to every young person in Britain. In places like schools, prisons, churches and local communities, using sport, music, the arts and so much more!

Story

I've agreed to take on  'The 3 Peak Challenge' to help raise money for the organisation that I work for - 'Reflex'.

Reflex (part of the charity YFC), works with young offenders and marginalised young people both in custody and in the community. We use creative arts such as music and theatre, and relevant youth outreach prgrammes  to help engage, encourage, and transform young people.

The work we do helps young people express themselves and reflect on thier own personal lives, and addresses many of the negative and harmful habits of young people. As an organisation we offer support and help to young people at risk of offending and already in custody, and loads of ways for them to engage in positive, fulfilling and life changing activities.

Check out more about what we do at our brand new website: www.reflex.org

We have never done a fundraiser that is completly dedicated to Reflex so this is a first!

On August 26th 2009 I will be one of 4 staff members doing this challenge to raise money for Reflex.
Basically i'm not very fit and i've never climbed a mahoosive mountain, so this is going to be challenging! Plus I have to do it in under 12 hours!!!

Please can you support me in this and help me beat my target of £1000.

Here's some official info on the challenge...

By tradition the grueling 37.5km (23.5 miles) must be completed within 12 hours though the actual time taken will vary depending on the stamina of the individual and the prevailing weather conditions.  The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge Walk is a rugged, high mountain walk over a variety of terrains and should not be underestimated. Whilst the walking is generally pretty good it is very long for a single day's hike. It also includes three big climbs totaling 1586m (5202ft) of ascent with the last climb up onto Ingleborough - when the legs are tired and the spirit is weak - being particularly steep. As with all mountainous areas, the weather can change frequently and very quickly. Swirling mist can descend with little warning and heavy rain can turn hard ground into stamina sapping bog.

I'm off to get fit....please give some cash!

Thanks!!

Jo
