On June 27th 2010 I took part in the Marathon du Mont-Blanc - a mountain marathon whose course is 42.195 kilometres with a total ascent of 2511 metres and 1490 metres negative.

 I completed the race in a time of 6:24:16 & finished in 478^th position overall out of 1717 although over 2000 people entered the race & I finished 163^rd in my class (I’m still coming to terms with the fact that I’m a veteran).

Through online sponsorship, just giving, a generous donation by my work (Scottish & Southern Energy) & good old pen & paper I've managed to raise almost £2000.00 in total so I’m absolutely delighted.

This money will all be sent directly to MS Scotland to help fund more research - how ironic that the country with the highest prevalence of Multiple Sclerosis in the World receives no funding from central Government.
