Story
After 21 years of running, I finally decided to attempt a proper race. So, on 25th March I ran the half marathon round the streets of Bath. My first attempt - I am in the Veteran Class already - and I made it In 2 hours and 8 minutes, and all in one piece.
I didn't ask for sponsorship before the race as I wasn't sure I would get round the 13 miles, it is quite a long way. But, now that I have done it I am raising money for the Badger Trust, an organisation which campaigns for Badgers' rights and wellbeing, and supports the protection of these wonderful creatures in a myriad of ways - you can find out more about the Badger Trust and their work at wwwbadgertrust.org.uk . My plan is to donate all funds to the Badger Trust staff to use in their work.
If you would like to support me / Badgers, you can make a donation direct through this site - you just need to use the 'Sponsor Us Now' button above, or below. The minimum you can donate online is £2, so if you want to give less, just drop me a line and I will provide a traditional sponsor form instead. Similarly, if you prefer to sponsor me in cash, just let me know.
Many thanks to all of you who do dig into your pockets, I am very grateful.
Thanks to all of you who have endured my endless wittering about this race / my injuries / distances run each week. And, specifically, a huge vote of thanks to Simon Morris, sports masseur at the University of Bath Sports Training Village, who has been an incredible help throughout my months of training.
Cheers to you all, from Jo
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Badger Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
