Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I can't quite belive that I have agreed to do the ING New York Marathon and it is only 2 weeks away!  This is a testament to my friendship with Andrew Purvis.   He is inspirational, leads from the front and never lets go until he 'gets to YES'.

Well here goes.  I'm in, I'm committed, (I'm terrified) and I'm sure it's going to be "real"!!

The past two months have been quite tough (never do this 'last minute marathon thing'), but if you help me along with some fund-raising, it will absolutely be worth it.  It will test all my resolve, discipline and general bloody-mindedness to get through it - an added bonus is that I hope to shed a few pounds along the way...and hopefully my feet will won't let me down with blisters!

Fairbridge is an amazing charity and I feel honoured to be able to help out in some way.  We often don't acknowledge how priviledged and lucky we are - we have family, a home, partners, friends, a job and at least some sort of support network for when times get tough.  Fairbridge tries to provide some or indeed all of this to young people that society seems to have forgotten and gives them a change to re-gain their self-confidence and get out there again with a smile on their face.  Fairbridge offers young people opportunity and support: Opportunity in the form of a wide range of fun and challenging activities, sometimes for the first time; support in th form of a long-term action plan and a dedicated key worker.  It is this unique combination that gives young people the confidence, motivation and skills they need to turn their lives around.

Anything you can give today will help Fairbridge reach more people.  Please dig deep.  I know I will.
