Story
In April 2013, I will be running the Paris and London Marathons in memory of a close relative - a very special little boy called Luke Jenkins, who is sorely missed by his friends and family.
Luke sadly passed away last April when he was only seven years old.
He was born with a congenital heart problem (half a heart), which meant that in his short life he had to endure numerous major operations and procedures.
Despite these problems Luke was always a loving, lively and cheerful little boy who had dreams of becoming a doctor when he grew up so that he could help others like him.
However, last year Luke sadly lost his fight and passed away due to complications following surgery.
In honour of Luke, the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff founded a charity - The Luke Jenkins Paediatric Cardiac Fund.
This will help to support children with heart problems like Luke. The fund will help to raise vital money for the unit and every donation will be gratefully received.
If you would like to find out more about Luke and his charity please visit: www.lukejenkins.co.uk
I can't promise that your donation will make me run any quicker but it will inspire me to cross the line (twice!) so thank you so much for your support.
