I aim to complete the 26.2 miles of the Virgin London Marathon 2010, running to raise money and awareness for this fantastic charity. This is my second time running the London Marathon in aid of a worth while cause and I aim to actively involve the students of Hyde Clarendon Sixth Form and Tameside College in Manchester, to help raise awareness and money for disabled children in sport, promote a healthy active lifestyle and inspire students to participate in major events in the future.

This year the charity I'm running for is Get Kids Going, a National charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity to participate in sport. Get Kids Going provides specially built sports’ wheelchairs so they can do marathons, triathlons, tennis, athletics, mountain skiing, rugby, basketball etc. Get Kids Going! also helps and encourages British disabled children to compete by supporting them with their sports; training, physiotherapy, travel, design and development of sports’ wheelchairs. With your help many could become record holders and Paralympic champions!

Over 200,000 disabled children and young people in Britain need the help of Get Kids Going! They desperately want special manual wheelchairs, trikes and other mobility equipment. Also another 50,000 disabled children and youngsters need sports wheelchairs to let them compete in their chosen sport.

With you help this year I'm aiming to raise £2,000 for Get Kids Going. That's 2/3rds of a sports wheelchair (£3,000)/the total cost to provide a disabled child or young person with a lightweight manual wheelchair (£2,000).
