Story

Mrs Joanne Cain (Jo)
1972 - 2009

Joanne Cain passed away on Tuesday 21st July 2009 after a 2 1/2 year battle with cancer.

For more information on Joanne’s brave outlook you can read her story here :

http://www.leightonbuzzardonline.co.uk/news/Leighton-woman-ticks-off-her.5099297.jp

I know for sure that Joanne touched so many people with her positive outlook on life and although she wasn’t able to complete many of the things from her bucket list, she still enjoyed her last few months with us and managed one of her main targets which was the Race for Life. She also managed to raise more than she expected, a target which she thought she ambitious

The hospice that Joanne was in until she passed away was a fantastic place for her. It was so peaceful there and I know Joanne felt very relaxed there. The staff were all fantastic and so very kind to all of us. They were there for all of us and not just for Joanne, that made it all the more special for me and the reason we have decided to ask for donations.

Throughout Jo's treatment she kept a bright outlook on the future, even though she knew it could not be beaten

She was an inspiration to so many people including other cancer sufferers, some of whom have been in touch to say what a difference she made to them and how her outlook kept them positive and helped them deal with their own suffering and treatment in a different light.

I feel so very proud to be able to call her my sister and I hope that others feel the same just by knowing her.

Rest in peace my beautiful sister, for you will not be forgotten
