Today I reached 18k/ 11 miles!! Found it very hard but had a great running partner - This week I am going for it again and will finish with another biggie, which will be my final run before race day : / I just want to say I am absolutely blown away by the support of everyone that has donated, I never imagined this much guidance and support from close friends and family to people that I've never met! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this is a very special little lady and I am honoured to be doing this xxxx

Thanks SO much to everyone for your kind donations - I have been back out in the windy rain this week and managed another 10 MILE run! and back out again today for another 4.5 miles : ) Losing my toenail, feeling a little sore! Least its no flipflop weather yet! Thanks again : ) x

Updated on Mar 3rd 2012 at 12:22 PM from the JustGiving API

Well the training is going well despite a little food poisioning! Getting back on track ad managed 13k this morning.. Please please please support this wonderful charity and help me reach my target! Xxx

I am running the Reading Half Marathon this year for Kids Kidney Research, in particular our dear friends daughter, Lucy Flynn.

Lucy was diagnosed with the genetic disease, Juvenile Nephronophthisis in January 2008 when she was 3 years old. This disease causes progressive destruction of both her kidneys, meaning that she will need a transplant before she reaches adolescence. Over the years she has battled lots of challenges, which she has embraced with extreme bravery, as have her family too.

Lucy is now 8 and right now they are facing their biggest ever challenge, as Lucy is preparing for that imminent transplant.

Both Mum and Dad are donor matches, which is fantastic, but this is where the hard work starts for them.

As their friend, I just don't know what to do to help, sometimes just being there doesn't seem enough. So, this fundraising event is to show them that they are not alone, we are behind them all the way!

Now, I am looking at beating my previous race time, (keeping that one quiet for all of you who have forgotten it) so lets hope the training continues to go well!

So please dig deep and donate to this wonderful charity. I promise to post photos again ; o )

Please, please show your support, every donation counts : )

Thanks so much for taking the time to read.

Love Joe xxx

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
