Tandem skydive · 4 September 2010

St Matthews Church restoration fund was set up to fund vital restoration work needed to keep our much loved church as a place of worship for all in our community

Story

Just to let you all know that we did it!!!!

“It was the most terrifying, exhilarating and humbling experience of my life.  The “jump” was, in the words of my 4 year old granddaughter, "awesome".    Once the chute had opened and we were floating free in the sky - the view was amazing and the feeling of peace, quiet and freedom very special.  I am so pleased that I have actually experienced the thrill of a sky dive. But, I will never forget, once I was safely back on terra firma,  looking up and seeing the smiling faces of all the St. Matthews supporters, who had accompanied us to Netheravon, clapping and cheering.  That wonderful display of love and support was so humbling and made it all worth while.”

Would we do it again ?  I think the answer to that from both of us is “not just yet!!”

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Alison Seal & I are doing a tandem skydive in aid of the St. Matthews church Blackmoor & Whitehill and I am absolutely petrified!!.  But, the church needs the funds for vital restoration work needed to ensure the preservation of the building now and for future generations and the St. Matthews family were there for me, with love, kindness and support through a very difficult period in my life and this is my way of saying thank you to all of them.

Alison says "if you look at the "awful" picture of me on my last  jump you can see the terror on my face(!!!!) . I promised myself then that I would never do it again unless it was for a good cause. But here we go, this time though the jump is much higher from 13,000 ft with 45 seconds of total free fall, when I timed this by counting it seemed such a long time, thankfully, I will be attached to an experienced person."

So we both ask you all to please dig deep and donate now.
