*UPDATE: The race has been completed and it was a truly amazing experience. I will definitely do it again next year (and encourage others to as well)! I completed the 10kms in 57 minutes and didn't even ache the next day. Thanks again to all who have shown their support either through donations or in spirit. Lots of love, Joss
Hello friends & family,
Through my travels I have come to learn about acid violence. Having visited Cambodia and falling in love with the wonderful people there I was profoundly affected when learning about the acid violence that occurs there. Primarily aimed at women, these violent acts, often acts of revenge, are intended to disfigure their targets for life.
In order to create awareness about acid violence, I have chosen to run the London 10K run for Acid Survivors Trust International (ASTI).
To learn more, please visit their website at http://www.acidviolence.org/
You will note, acid violence is most common in Asia but it also affects the lives of people within the UK.
Please follow the links below to read about acid violence in the UK:

And outside of the UK:

If you are compelled to donate, and I hope you are, please give as generously as you can. My goal is not only to run the race in under 1 hour but also to create awareness about a global issue that we might otherwise be ignorant about.
Thank you so much for your support,
Jocelyne
