Yes, the two blonde girls known as Jodie and Shannon you might have seen seen in various over-excited states in the South of France this summer are going to be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, all 5896 metres of it, on November 7th.
We've done a fair bit of travelling together in Europe, the US, Thailand and the Caribbean but the Africa trip we have planned is the most epic yet!
It's going to be tough, particularly the altitude bit.....although we're mainly worrying that our iPods & cameras stay charged. Of course we're going to be doing it in style; the packing list include Evian face spritzers, tons of peanut M&M's and Jodie was considering packing a Ginster's Pasty for a morale boost half way up but I don't think they travel well.
Seriously though, we have been partaking in a bit of training in the Alps on weekends off so we're pretty confident we can do it!!!
We're doing the hike partly because we have complete wanderlust, partly because I (Jodie!) will be turning 30 on summit day but mainly to support an amazing charity called Papyrus.
Papyrus, a charity established in the UK in 1997 works to prevent suicide and depression in teenagers and young people. It's a great cause and one we really want to get behind and hope you do too.
