Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·

The Volunteer Zambia Foundation (previously the Perfect Day Foundation) was established in 2008 to ensure the friendships formed on the sports fields of Zambia will develop to benefit further generations of sports people.

Story

The International Development through Excellence and Leadership in Sport (IDEALS) Zambia project gives British students the opportunity to engage in youth empowerment in Zambia, using sport as a tool for social change. I was priviliged to first be involved in this project in June 2010.

The unforgettable experiences for those before me prompted the 2008 creation of the Perfect Day Foundation (PDF). This charity enables continued support for the work carried out by Sport in Action, a Lusaka based non-governmental organisation who provide education and opportunity for social development using sport.

This Summer I will be returning to Zambia as a Student Team Leader  for the IDEALS project. To enable the success of this year's project I aim to raise £750. Alongside this my involvement with PDF has affirmed my belief that sport as a tool for social change works. Therefore this justgiving page is to match the £750 required for the IDEALS project.

To raise the cumulative £1500 I RAN the London Marathon. Whether it's via this page or the Paypal account for the IDEALS project money (jdjoedale@googlemail.com) I am hugely grateful in advance for any donation.
