Story

30th October

For the whole of November I won't be shaving. On December 1st I will have my first shave for over 30 days.  I would like you to sponsor me to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support as they helped nurse my Auntie Ivy through her terminal cancer in 2001.  To mark 10 years since her passing I would like to give something back to those who helped make her final days as comfortable and happy as possible.

It is a great charity that helps so many people and I would be grateful if you could dig deep and donate to my challenge - every little helps!

I will be posting regular updates and photographs of the development of my facial hair!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

31st October 22:35

I've just had my final shave before No Shave Novemebr kicks off. My current picture was taken 10 minutes ago.

I'm looking forward to seeing what develops on my chin, as I worked out earlier that the last time I grew a beard was 1991.

I get the feeling this beard will be a silver one.The shaving kit has been removed from my possession. Hirsuteness here I come.

8th November

I've been shave free for 8 days now, the stubble has appeared. Firstly thank you to everyone who has donated- it means a lot to me, I'm sure it will make a great difference to those who need it most. As they say, every little helps, thanks again.

I've posted a video to show my beardy/stubbly progress. It goes from my final shave on the 31st October to last night, when I took a photo of what I look like now, hope you like it. To those who are asking the question, yes it is getting itchy, and no, my wife doesnt like it, so I'm not getting kissed as much as usual, but there has to be some suffering for charity doesnt there? More updates when I have more beard growth

21st November

Now I remember how itchy it is growing a beard. The last time I grew one was 20 years ago, when I trimmed it as it grew, so it didnt itch as much and looked a little better. Now it looks like my beard is trying to escape down my neck to join my chest hair- then again, if they do connect, I could always join ZZ Top :-)

2nd December

Well its all over now, the beard has been grown, and at 6am yesterday it was shaved off. The itching was huge, but I enjoyed the look of the beard, even though it was patchy in some areas, and a too silver in others. I'll be putting some more photos and another vidoe on over the next few days to document the growing.

Finally, a big thanks to everyone who sponsored me, it means a lot to me, you are all starts.
