Story

I am one of 28 fundraisers selected for a world record attempt on May 12 in Crosby, Merseyside. Two sides of 14 players are aiming to play touch rugby for 30 hours, beating the current record of 27.

Though a novel idea this is not for egos but for charity, with Clatterbridge Cancer Centre set to benefit from our marathon match.

Staying awake for 30 hours is tough. My training is going well, but playing rugby for that period will be incredibly hard. Supporting a good cause is the motivation.

There are more fundraising appeals now than there ever have been, each as worthy as the next.

I understand times are dificult, but if you have any spare change you could donate it would be much appreciated.
