Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page will be open all year to support our events for Joe in 2017.  We are raising money for Oak Ward, the Children's Ward in Musgrove Park Hospital, to say thank you for their care, kindness and dedication as Joe battled cancer.

Joe was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma in Feb 2013. He endured a year of chemotherapy, 6 weeks of radiotherapy and many procedures during this time, and spent a lot of time in Musgrove and Bristol. January 2014 should have meant the end of treatment but Joe relapsed and had to begin more chemotherapy and radiotherapy. After relapsing again in August more chemotherapy was tried but was sadly unsuccessful and after a heroic battle Joe passed away on Sunday 8th March 2015 aged 12.

Joe showed such maturity and wisdom as he faced every treatment and procedure with such positivity. He always had a smile on his face despite the daily battles he was facing.

We are raising money to refurbish the school/games room on Oak Ward to create a lasting legacy for Joe and to say thank you for all they did for Joe.
