Story

On 24 July 2012, with members and friends of the Camden YAC branch, I walked three times around the line of the Roman Walls of the City of London - in full Elizabethan costume, on the hottest day of the year - for the Young Archaeologists Club. Together, we raised over £1000 for the YAC, to ensure opportunities for young people to get involved in archaeology. The photo here is just one taken on that memorable day...

This 19 July, I'll be aiming to do one better: with members of multiple YAC branches in the area we'll be walking from the London Roman Amphitheatre at the Guildhall to the St Albans Roman Amphitheatre, in Roman costume, a distance of a little over 23 miles. The last few miles, to add to the comedy, I'll be pushing my by then 15 month old daughter Zoe in her pram too. It should make for some memorable pictures, and knowing our luck it'll be another scorching sunny day.
