Community Fun Run · 20 May 2012

Jami is here for young people and adults whose mental illness and distress makes everyday life a struggle. We guide them through their mental health recovery, support their families and carers, and educate community leaders to build our collective resilience.

Story

As most of you are aware sixteen years ago I was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease and have been fighting it since that time.

At the begining of this year I set myself the challenge of running  in one of the fun runs and together with my trainer we set about trying to reach a point where I would be able to achieve this goal.

Last Sunday the opportunity arose and I felt that I could do the run and 5km didn't seem as daunting as it previously did.My time for running  5km was 36 minutes.

I would like to thank my cousin Jake for picking me up and taking .me to the venue.

I also want to thank Neil, my trainer for giving up his morning to come and support me and give me a lift home.and for pushing me to believe in myself that I could achieve this goal.

Finally unfortunately my Aunt passed away in the week preceeding the run and I decided to do it in her memory .

Now it's over to you to make whatever donation you like and thanks in advance .
