Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

EVERY LITTLE HELPS!!!

So this year I'm partaking in a charity event which takes London's West End by storm, Showtime Challenge has organised a one-night-only performance of Singin' In The Rain hosted by the fabulous Julian Clary. I shall be playing the role of the Villain & I'll be giving my best shuffle bull-change in the Dance Ensemble. We are learning the whole show and putting it to stage in 48 Hours so it's going to be a whirlwind of a weekend.

Obviously it would be great if you wanted to snag the last few tickets and come see the result, but we are doing all we can to raise money for the chosen charity this year The Lewy Body Society, so if you fancy drop a cheeky donation, it doesn't matter how much you can give.

The Lewy Body Society, whose mission is to fund research into Lewy body dementia and to raise awareness of the disease. DLB is the  second most common type of neurodegenerative dementia in older people after Alzheimer’s, accounting for approximately 15-20% of all people living with dementia.  They also provide a community and support network for those affected.

Showtime Challenge is a not-for-profit organisation. All proceeds are either reinvested in operational costs of future productions or donated to charity.

Showtime Challenge 48-Hour Musicals brings together a cast of 100 (or so) professional actors and talented amateurs, a 30-piece orchestra, and a hard-working production team. All volunteers, they pull together to produce a professional-standard all-singing, all-dancing musical in just 48 hours. Rehearsals start on Friday night. None of the cast have worked together on the show before this time. Then, 48 amazing, exciting, exhausting hours later, in a major West End theatre, it’s showtime!
