Brighton Marathon 2014 · 6 April 2014 ·

We support those affected by brain injury in East Sussex. This can be natural causes such as a stroke or an accident. We offer emotional reassurance, rehabilitation and respite both at our Newick centre and in the community. This includes family and friends as well as the individual.

Story

Like the assistance from my friends and family, Headway has a massive impact in my life to rebuild my conscious self. Apart from the intense medical assistance with the recovery, I have had many hours of assistance: many hours of doctors, nurses and hospital staff; 24/7 guard (making sure I don’t break out) and some amazing people visiting me at home. Please follow my progress from my website.

I know this is a charity very close to everyone’s home. Your support will ensure that Headway is able to continue helping people who have suffered similar injuries. You support will be greatly appreciated!

I can only begin to imagine how devastating this was to my lovely friends and family around me as to what happened to me. The sheer fear and worries that went on for years... I want to pass on this message to those around the person who has suffered a similar injury, I hope that by me running this marathon in this extraordinary way, raising awareness of this situation I can show that there is hope to anyone who has been through such an injury in the most difficult times.
