Story
Kabaka community school is a rural community about 25km west of Kapiri Mposhi in Kapiri District, Zambia.
The current school uses an empty health clinic and makeshift classrooms of sticks and grass. There are 258 pupils, 171 girls and 87 boys, on the school register. Kabaka school currently receives support from the Ministry of Education who provide one trained teacher. They are committed to sending more teachers once new classrooms and houses are built. The other two teachers are untrained and paid by the PTA through community donations.
A site for a new school has been allocated by the Government.
We are currently discussing the design with the community who have already collected some of the required raw materials and started clearing the site.
