The COMRADES MARATHON in South Africa is no ordinary Marathon. It is no ordinary challenge.
For a start it is 90K or 56 Miles, so it will be like running 3 ten mile warm-ups, and then running a normal marathon.
It starts at 5.30 a.m. in the first light of morning.
It runs from inland PieterMaritzberg to the Indian Ocean port of Durban.
The temperature varies from cool up at the start, to steamy by the sea.
It is the world's foremost ultra-marathon, having been going since 1921, and this year attracted over 23,000 entries.
