Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.

Last year a group of eighteen of us raised £27000 for Kisharon by participating in a trek through the Grand Canyon. It was so successful, not only in the funds it raised but by the whole experience including  the gelling and comaraderie of the participants and the spirituality of the Shabbaton held at the energetic shul in Scottsdale, Arizona . So much so that it was decided to do it again but this time with a group, hopefully of forty. Unlike the recent  trip  where Kisharon paid for the flights,  in the forthcoming hike each participant will pay for their own flight .

Many people are familiar with the name and reputation of Kisharon. What many are NOT aware is its multi-faceted functioning such as:

The Finchley Road School

Tuffkid Nursery

The Parson Street Site

The Hannah Shcwalby Residential Home

The Asher Loftus Buissness Enterprise and print shop

The Hackney Inclusion Project (for young men and women)

Assisted Living support for those who live alone or share a flat.

I have the privilege of being a support worker in Stamford Hill where we have between eight to twelve, mainly  young men whom we provide support in various aspects of their lives such as:

Davening and Limmudai Hakodesh.   Music. Woodwork - making shtenders.  Horse Riding.  Various Therapies.  Art. Gardening.  Outings to museums and other places of interest.  Bowling.  Some of our young men work part time within the local community, giving them a feeling of independance and worth.  Cooking (including challah baking). Swimming Canoeing.  Access to the local community.  Accessing local public transport

You're most welcome to drop in on us at 13 Paget Road, London N16 5ND.
