Last November the lives of Cathy & I were turned upside down when our son Thomas was unexpectedly born at just 27 weeks, a full 3 months before his due date in February. Having come through his traumatic delivery, and weighing just 2lb 8oz, Thomas was placed in an incubator on a ventilator in the intensive care unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

Thomas was looked after by a team of consultants, doctors & nurses who provided dedicated round the clock care. We will never forget the professionalism and compassion of the staff, and the first class facilities & medication he received.

After spending 9 weeks and 6 days in hospital Thomas was finally allowed home just before his original due date. Since then he has flourished and is like any other normal healthy baby. Had it not been for all the care and clinical expertise he received we would not have the Thomas we see before us today.

Bliss fund clinical research into new neonatal treatments, campaign for extra investment and provide support for parents with sick or premature babies. Having lived through the most stressful and emotional time of our lives and now knowing the work Bliss do, we are forever in the debt to those who supported us and our little boy. I'm now hoping to raise a nice sum of money to help those in similar circumstances, so please give generously. If it's any consolation I'm sh*tting myself at the thought of falling out of a plane at 13,000 feet!
