I'm going to run 11 miles..... okay now that those of you who know me well have got back to your feet and finished laughing I'll continue. I'm going to run 11 miles in one week.... no there you go again, I don't mean it will take all week, I mean in one week's time, I'm going to run 11 miles.

I'm doing it for three reasons - to raise money, ego and to raise some more money.

The money bit is quite simple I'm trying to help save the Bradford Burns Research Unit.

The Burns Research Unit at the was established in the wake of the 1985 Bradford City Football Club fire disaster in which 56 people died and over 200 were injured. To mark the 25 anniversary of the tragedy, an appeal has been established to raise £100,000 for the Burns Research Unit.

The ego bit is a bit more cutting. We have four new dynamic graduates at work and I overheard them discussing how they were going to share out the shortfall in miles on my account and BAM it hit me. I'm the 3 Fs - Forty, Fat and Folically challenged. At the end of the 11 miles that won't have changed but as mid life crisis's go, with your help, at least I'll have done some good!

So please dig deep and donate now.
