The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking up this massive challenge with my friends from the April Fools Club to raise money that goes directly towards building two respite care homes for RAF families.

We will be replicating the 1982 yomp across the Falkland Islands, famously undertaken by 45 Commando during the liberation of the Falkland Islands.  The yomp is a physically demanding 120km treck across difficult terrain consisting of peat bog, tussock grass and rock in winds typically in excess of 20 mph. We will set off from San Carlos Bay on the west coast of East Falkland on 9th February, arriving in Stanley around 5 days later.  We will camp out and use sheepsheds and outhouses for overnight rest.  Whilst nothing can truly replicate the hardships and difficulty experienced by our armed forces in liberating the islands, the expedition is still a unique challenge and I hope that you will do what you can to support this excellent charity.
