HSBC Arctic Challenge 2018 · 3 August 2018 to 10 August 2018 ·
On August 3rd 2018, I will be will trekking 100km within the Arctic Circle in Greenland. With no access to facilities, I will be carrying my own backpack (25 lbs) and camping gear for 5 days. We will be sleeping in the tundra of Greenland in tents, eating freeze dried meals and enjoying 22 hours of sunlight. You know what that means, no tequila, no golf, or freshly grilled steak for me but all worth it to raise money and awareness for WaterAid.
WaterAid is a non-profit organization that aims to transform the lives of the poorest and most marginalized people by improving access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene, and hopes to give everyone safe access to water by 2030. Currently 663 million people (10% of the world's population) live without safe water and over 800 children die every single day from diseases caused by dirty water and poor sanitation. I find this figure unbelievable and quite simply unacceptable. We must each do our part.To learn more about WaterAid, please visit their website, www.wateraid.org.
Please consider any amount of donation to support my trek through Greenland, but also to support WaterAid and the amazing initiatives they are doing to bring clean water and better hygiene.
