Story
We made it, the team crossed the finish line at 8:45pm on Sunday 18th August, exhausted and carrying injuries but over the moon at our achievement!
A massive thank you to the team (CYCLISTS: James, Paul, Ramsey, Terry and Dave, SUPPORT: Hannah, Helen, Beth) for their efforts in getting us all across the line and to our supporters waiting at the finish with ice cold beers ready for us... wonderful!
Well done guy's, you should be so proud of everything we have achieved here; I am taking away some special memories and looking forward to the reunion in Dec!!
The Lola-Rose Foundation was formed in loving memory of my daughter Lola-Rose, who was born sleeping last year.
The Foundation aims to raise awareness and generate income for numerous charities associated with stillbirth and neonatal death in the UK. These organisations focus on research into why 17 babies are stillborn or die shortly after birth each day in the UK and also provide essential support for families suffering such a terrible loss.
The challenge is to cycle from John O'Groats to Land’s End to raise money for the Foundation. On Saturday 10th August 2013 I will embark on this journey with 8 other riders to cycle for 9 consecutive days, 963 miles, 49870 feet of ascent. Follow our progress on the Foundation website (http://www.lola-rosefoundation.co.uk/jogle-2013.php) where video footage from each stage will be uploaded or via Twitter (@LolaRoseFNDN).
