My story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

I completed Wilmslow Half Marathon on Sunday 25 March in 01:59:33, a decent time (so I'm told) for a first-timer. It was hot, it was hard (especially nursing a stitch for some of the race), but it felt good to cross the finishing line. See below for two pictures from the day.

For those who haven't visited my site yet, here's some background...

I completed my MA Music Therapy last year and am now state-registered music therapist. The course was a great learning and in many ways a life-changing experience. During the training I had the privilege to work alongside some very gifted colleagues from different professional backgrounds, but - more importantly - to learn through making music with some very special people with a range of disabilities and special needs.

My third-year placement was at david lewis, a centre for people of all ages with complex epilepsy, autism, and learning and physical disabilities. There are around 300 people who make use of the centre's residential and day services every day.

Your donation will help to buy a specially adapted holiday home, essential to allow the service users at david lewis to enjoy life to the full.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Whatever you can afford will be much appreciated and will make a real difference.

Thank you again.

John
