Story

Sadly I lost my mum to cancer 3 years ago. Throughout my mums 18 month battle with lung cancer she was supported by many different cancer charities that helped to make a very difficult time a little bit easier. Since my mums death I have been taking part in numerous events to raise money for 2 cancer charities, Macmillan Cancer research and York Against Cancer. On the 27th of July to coincide with the start of the Olympics I and my friend Christian Machen will be running from York to Scarborough (42 miles). We will stop over at Malton over night to re fuel and then finish on Saturday 28th. Unfortunately I am sure we all know of someone who is currently battling with this awful disease or have sadly lost their fight. Through completing this run we are hoping to raise funds that can be used by York against cancer to support the people who are currently battling. I’m sure you’re fed up of all the sponsorship requests that come your way but we would really appreciate your support. You don’t need to donate vast amounts; even a pound will make a big difference.
