Thats the blurb done with now onto the real business. 

EST are linked to the donkey sanctuary and once upon a time I adopted Oscar the donkey who lives in Birmingham. They do great work with kids who are disabled or lack confidence by letting them go on donkey rides which apparently benefits them by giving them greater confidence and just being generally happier. 

Also added bonus is that the donkey is generally one that has been rescued (can you imagine a rescue donkey - might even have a hat on with a red cross) but I dont think that is what they mean! 

Anyway I have never run this distance before in an organised event, having only done the Bristol 10k in a time of 47 miuntes. So I am looking at doing over twice the distance on a undulating course (Bristol was flat) and hope to finish around 1hr 45 minutes, but we will see.
