Edinburgh to Whitby road ride · 25 July 2015

At Bluebell Wood, we care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive 16% Statutory funding.

Story

In this, our fourth year of annual charity cycle challenges, SCX have decided to raise money for a local charity - Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - who provided help and support to a member of our staff.

On the weekend of the 26th & 27th July, the SCX Spinners Road Team will ride approximately 210 miles over 2 days from Edinburgh to Whitby with an overnight stop in Newcastle.

The route on day one follows the inland scenic borders with significant ascent. This will be a test of endurance for all the riders before arriving in Newcastle for a worthy rest and recovery ahead of day two.

The second day will see a route west out of Newcastle and down on to the North Yorkshire Moors before horse-shoeing back round to Whitby, again a route strewn with significant climbs and country roads.

The group will be ably supported by Mark Foster, Rachel Nolson and Kim Travers, and is all funded by SCX, ensuring that ALL donations go to the cause.

Please help us to make a difference, every little helps.
