At Bluebell Wood, we care for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. We support hundreds of families, both in our hospice and in family homes. It costs around £6.5m to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive 16% Statutory funding.

Story

In this, our fourth year of annual charity cycle challenges, SCX have decided to raise money for a local charity - Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice - who provided help and support to a member of our staff.

On the weekend of the 11th & 12th July, the SCX Spinners Mountain Bike Team will ride approximately 120 miles over 2 days from Berwick-upon-Tweed to Newcastle with an overnight stop in Alnmouth.

The route follows the scenic Northumberland Coastline generally via National Cycle Route 1, but hugs the coastal paths where possible with a quick race against the tide to and from Holy Island; no time for the famous Holy Island Mead!

The group will also detour to take in the many castles along the route, hence the challenge title 'Coast & Castles' .

The group will be ably supported by Dave Kilner, Clare Hazlehurst, and Kim Travers and all funded by SCX, ensuring ALL donations go to the cause.

Please help us to make a difference, every little helps.
