Story
<p><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;">Caring can have a dramatic effect on young carers’ lives. Almost a third of young carers have serious educational difficulties at secondary school with many failing to attain any qualifications. They may need to take time off from school to care for someone and can fall behind with their school work. In addition to this, young carers often experience bullying and isolation from their peers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;">Yet schools are often unaware that there are young carers in their midst. Of the young carers we currently support, up to 75% of their schools did not realise they were a young carer.<br></span><span style="font-size: 8pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Calibri&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;"><span> </span></span><strong><span style="font-size: 8pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;">(Quote taken from The Princess Royal Trust for Carers)</span></strong><span style="font-size: 8pt; line-height: 115%; font-family: &quot;Arial&quot;,&quot;sans-serif&quot;;"> </span></p>
