Thank you all for looking at my WorldPay Just Giving website which details our London to Paris Charity Bike Ride 2013.

On 28 June 60 of us will be cycling from London to Paris over 3 days.  We are scheduled to all arrive at Tour Eiffel on Sunday 30 June.   In all it will be a trip of 210 miles, each of us averaging 70 miles a day. 

Many of you will have seen me riding Boris bikes and my folding bike over the last few years in all weathers into the office as a part of my commute to London.  I do apologise that that as a fuller sized MAMIL I don’t make for a pretty sight in the mornings, or when seen out and about huffing and puffing though the London streets on my iron donkey.

The time has now come for me to look at putting all the riding skills gained from my short commuter miles into something worthwhile and see if I can make it all the way in France with my fellow riders.     It will be a fun trip and a huge physical challenge for us all!    

Our effort at the end of the day is all about raising some funds for the three children’s charities WorldPay has chosen to support.  So please sponsor me and my colleagues along the way.   Any amount you can spare will go a long way to helping these causes. 

I’ve set myself a personal target to help raise £1000.  

To achieve success in the event I will now have to seriously put some miles under my belt extending my journey all the way home (15 miles) and some longer rides at the weekends to ensure I can make the distance.  I’ll keep you updated with my progress as my training progresses.
