Speyside Trust based at Badaguish Cairngorm Outdoor Centre is a small independent charity helping children and adults with special needs, learning or multiple disability enjoy 24-hour respite care and outdoor holidays in the Cairngorms National Park.

Story

Dear Friends & Family,

In a drunken stupor/ moment of madness/ moment of optimism (delete as you think
appropriate) I have entered the Aviemore Highland Half Marathon on Sunday 18th
October 2009. The location, near the Cairngorm mountains & around Loch Morlich, will
be second to none in the world. This is my first half marathon in 23 years, but the
pain will be the same so I have 3 tiered goals :

1. to finish in daylight,

2. to finish under 3hours,

3. to finish under 2hours 30mins

http://www.aviemorehalfmarathon.org/index.htm

To give this some purpose beyond pain management, I've chosen to raise funds for the
Speyside Trust, a small, independent registered Scottish Charity, providing respite
care and outdoor activity holidays for children and adults with special needs at
Badaguish Centre. You can find out more about it at
http://www.respitecareatbadaguish.org/

Having this goal will be valuable at Miles 2, 3, 4, 5 etc up to 13.1 on the run!!

Thank you in advance for your support. I will of course keep you posted on my slow progress but not during the run!!
