Story
On Saturday 24th September I successfully completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge. My team and I set off at 0650 and after a gruelling, 25 mile slog around, up and down the Peaks in very challenging conditions we arrived back 6 hours and 16 minutes later. Well, I say “we”, but several members of the team arrived 40 minutes after us due to a navigation error at the top of Ingleborough that led them 2 miles off the summit in the wrong direction! I can assure you that this was a reflection of just how poor the conditions (in particular visibility) were and not down to poor map-reading. The image below will give you an idea what conditions were like. Normally the view is spectacular. On Saturday I spent most of the day looking at my trainers to avoid falling flat on my face in the mist!
It seems everyone is doing something for charity these days and I’m very conscious that many of you will constantly receive e-mails asking for donations. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who donated for taking the time to give, particularly in these tough times. You have helped our overall Michael Page Team smash our target of raising £30,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and at the present time we are at over £39,000 and counting. This sum of money makes a massive difference. Thank You!
